MRI findings in clinical context

Understand what your MRI may mean for you

An MRI report can be technical and may not explain whether a finding is causing symptoms. Elite arranges consultant-led expert judgement around the report, your history and the appropriate next step.

Areas Served

Useful for Sussex and London patients who already have imaging but need it placed in clinical context.

A scan review is coordinated care, not a remote replacement for urgent assessment when symptoms demand it.

Suitable For

  • MRI findings with no clear explanation
  • Recent injury with an existing scan
  • Persistent joint, muscle, tendon, back or nerve symptoms

A report is one part of the picture

MRI can show findings that may or may not explain symptoms. Consultant judgement places the images and report alongside the mechanism of injury, examination information where available, function and previous treatment.

This helps avoid treating a written phrase alone. It does not guarantee that a scan will provide a single answer or determine one specific treatment.

Review and coordinated onward care

Elite can coordinate review of existing imaging and, where clinically appropriate, access to the relevant subspecialist for joint, muscle, tendon, back or nerve concerns. It is also useful for people unsure which specialist to book after receiving a report.

Recent injuries and persistent symptoms may each need different next steps; the pathway is guided by clinical context rather than the scan alone.

Fees and urgent symptoms

The Complete Elite Care Pathway costs £495. Investigations, treatment and additional specialist consultations are separately charged. The concierge fee is self-funded and not normally insured; eligible investigations or treatment may be covered subject to insurer authorisation.

Elite is not an emergency department. For life-threatening or serious immediate symptoms call 999 or attend A&E. For urgent but non-life-threatening concerns, use NHS 111 or an urgent NHS service.

Common Scenarios

A knee MRI with unfamiliar terms

You have a report after injury but do not know which findings matter for pain, stability or activity.

A spinal MRI and leg symptoms

You need a consultant-led view of how the scan relates to your symptoms and whether a spine pathway is relevant.

A shoulder scan after months of pain

You are unsure whether the next step is rehabilitation, another opinion or a discussion of treatment options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you review an MRI from another provider?
Existing reports and imaging can be considered as part of coordinated consultant-led review.
Do I need a new MRI?
Not automatically. Further investigations are coordinated only where clinically appropriate.
Is the £495 fee for the MRI itself?
No. It is the self-funded Complete Elite Care Pathway concierge fee; investigations, treatment and additional specialist consultations are separate. Eligible care may be insured subject to authorisation.
What if I have new severe weakness or serious symptoms?
Do not wait for a review. Use 999/A&E for life-threatening or serious immediate symptoms, or NHS 111/urgent NHS services for urgent non-life-threatening care.
Can MRI show why I hurt?
It can contribute useful information, but symptoms and clinical judgement are essential to interpreting its relevance.
