Sussex orthopaedic guidance

Private orthopaedic assessment with a coordinated plan

Elite helps Sussex patients make sense of an orthopaedic concern through consultant-led assessment, expert judgement and coordination of appropriate investigations or relevant subspecialist input.

Areas Served

For patients across East and West Sussex, including those who do not know which orthopaedic subspecialty fits their symptoms.

Coordination can be particularly helpful where work, family or travel makes multiple unplanned appointments difficult.

Suitable For

  • Joint or limb pain affecting everyday activity
  • Recent trauma where emergency treatment is not needed
  • Persistent symptoms despite an initial treatment plan

Orthopaedic expertise without guesswork

Orthopaedics covers a broad range of bone, joint and soft-tissue problems. A consultant-led approach considers the pattern of symptoms, function, injury mechanism and existing evidence before deciding whether a lower limb, upper limb, spine, nerve or rehabilitation perspective is most relevant.

This is support for people who need direction, not a guarantee that surgery, a scan or any particular treatment will be required.

From Sussex enquiry to appropriate care

Elite can coordinate clinically appropriate investigations and access to a relevant subspecialist. It can also help bring together previous imaging and correspondence so that each next conversation is better informed.

This applies both to newer injuries and persistent joint, muscle, tendon, back or nerve problems. The right route may include conservative care, further assessment or a specialist opinion, depending on clinical judgement.

Cost and safety

The Complete Elite Care Pathway costs £495. Investigations, treatment and additional specialist consultations are separately charged. The concierge fee is self-funded and not normally insured; eligible investigations and treatment may be covered subject to insurer authorisation.

Elite is not an emergency department. Call 999 or go to A&E for life-threatening or serious immediate symptoms; use NHS 111 or an urgent NHS service when urgent but not life-threatening.

Common Scenarios

Hip pain limiting walks

A gradual problem now affects stairs and coastal walks, but you are unsure whether it is hip, back or tendon related.

An old ankle injury that keeps returning

You have recurring instability and want a structured review rather than choosing imaging at random.

A scan report without a plan

You have a report but need its significance explained in the context of your symptoms and goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?
You can enquire directly. Relevant records, imaging and prior treatment details are useful where available.
Can this help with a longstanding problem?
Yes. Persistent joint, muscle, tendon, back and nerve symptoms can benefit from a fresh, consultant-led view of the next appropriate step.
What does the £495 include?
It is the self-funded Complete Elite Care Pathway concierge fee. Investigations, treatment and additional specialist consultations are separate and eligible care may be covered by an insurer with authorisation.
Is Elite suitable after a serious accident?
Not for immediate emergency needs. Use 999/A&E for life-threatening or serious symptoms, or NHS 111/urgent NHS services for urgent non-life-threatening care.
Will I be sent straight to a surgeon?
No. Access to the relevant subspecialist is coordinated only where that is clinically appropriate.
